8-26-15 Fall Retreat Updates (3rd Council Meeting)

Wednesday's Council meeting, the first of the 2015-16 academic school year, began with a prayer from Spencer Kashmanian, the first ever Director of Spiritual Life. The primary focus of the meeting was to update the House presidents on the preparations for the TKC Fall Retreat (September 10th-12th).

Tim Stratton (Dir. of Finance) went over the prices for upperclassmen in each House. He pointed out that the House of Churchill fundraised enough money that their upperclassmen will only have to pay $18 for a ticket, which is $42 dollars less than the baseline price. Prices for upperclassmen in other Houses goes as follows:
ten Boom: $30
Barton: $50
Truth, Thatcher: $51
SBA: $53
QE1: $56
Reagan, Bonhoeffer, Lewis: $60
Tim and Reese Evans (SBP) advised the presidents to remind the freshmen/first-years to sign up for Fall Retreat, being that their tickets have already been paid for through their tuition.

Tim also presented the new Council budget, which cut Council funding to the annual Red & Green Affair hosted by Lewis and Thatcher, and the annual Super Bowl party hosted by Bonhoeffer. Tim pointed out that if these Houses were in need of extra funding besides House funds for these events, money could be pulled from other areas of the Council's budget.

Annalise Bourgeois (Dir. of Student Orgs) talked about the success of the Student Org leadership training day, which she hopes will strengthen the bond between the Orgs and the Council. She also stated that she order two extra buses for Fall Retreat making it a total of twelve (12) buses that will be used to transport King's students to Iriquois Springs.

After a quick discussion about a meeting time for the presidents, the meeting was adjourned
